What is a seamless pipe?

Seamless pipes are derived from solid steel that is in sheet or bar form and is formed into a solid round shape known as “billets” which are then heated and cast over a form such as a piercing rod to create a hollow tube or shell.

What is difference between seam and seamless pipe?

The seamed steel pipes are generally welded. The seamless steel pipes are cold drawn and hot-rolled. The seamless steel pipe is generally formed by laminating molten steel in a molten state through a ring slit and then being subjected to a stretching process, so that there is no weld.

Is seamless pipe stronger than welded?

Generally, welded pipe was considered inherently weaker because it included a weld seam. Seamless pipe lacked this perceived structural flaw and was considered safer.

How are seamless pipes made?

Seamless pipe is manufactured using a process that heats and molds a solid billet into a cylindrical shape and then rolls it until it is stretched and hollowed. Since the hollowed center is irregularly shaped, a bullet-shaped piercer point is pushed through the middle of the billet as it is being rolled.

What is GI pipes?

Galvanised Iron (GI) Pipes are manufactured using mild steel strips of Low Carbon Steel Coils. The strips are passed through a series of fin rolls to give them a circular shape. The slit ends of the strips are then welded together by continuously passing high frequency electric current across the edges.

What is the difference between GI and MS pipe?

GI Pipe is “Galvanized Iron” Pipe. Material ms is mild steel and gi is galvanized steel that has been hot dipped . Mild steel pipe refers to the content of less than 0.25% carbon steel because of its low strength, low hardness and soft.

Can GI pipes be welded?

GI pipes can be welded with the simplest E6010 electrode in arc welding. Main purpose of galvanizing the pipe is lost as selective corrosion starts in the weld area and spreads to other areas.

Where are GI pipes used?

The GI Pipes are generally used for distribution of treated or raw water in rural or urban areas. These pipes are cheaper, light weight and easy to handle.

What are stainless steel pipes used for?

Stainless steel pipe is primarily used in piping systems for the transport of fluids or gases. We manufacture steel pipe from a steel alloy containing nickel as well as chromium, which give stainless steel its corrosion-resistant properties.

Is stainless steel pipe safe for drinking water?

Stainless steel pipe is recognized by many national and international drinking water agencies as an acceptable material. Its strength and internal pressure capabilities make it suitable for use in structures from one story to high rise buildings and industrial applications.

How is stainless steel pipe made?

They are produced by two distinct methods which result in either a welded or seamless pipe. In both methods, raw steel is first cast into a more workable starting form. It is then made into a pipe by stretching the steel out into a seamless tube or forcing the edges together and sealing them with a weld.

How long does stainless steel pipe last?

Stainless steel pipes will give at least 100 years of service without cracking or bursting. Failure of stainless steel pipe is extremely rare.

Is stainless steel OK to drink from?

So, if you want to be guaranteed you're drinking from a safe, reusable, steel water bottle, look for #304 or 18/8 food-grade stainless steel. #304 or 18/8 food-grade stainless steel is safe at any temperature and won't leach chemicals into your water if it's scratched or ages.

What is MS Angles?

M S Angle. MS Angles are L-shaped structural steel represented by dimension of sides & thickness. For e.g. 50x50x6 means, both the sides of angles are 50mm & thickness is of 6mm. There are various sizes of angles which are as follows :-( there are also equal & unequal angles).

Is Angle a size?

An angle is a fraction of a circle where the whole circle is 360°. A straight angle is the same as half the circle and is 180° whereas a right angle is a quarter of a circle and is 90°. You measure the size of an angle with a protractor.

What are flat bars used for?

Flat bar is a basic of building support materials. They are generally used for support braces, ladder hangers, gate latches, duct work, overhead doors, heaters and bracing.

what is GC Sheets?

G.I./GC Sheets are galvanized steel sheets or coils that are zinc coated and cold rolled sheets/ coils. G.I sheets are available in GI coils, Galvanised Plain sheets (GP) and Galvanised Corrugated Sheet (GC)

What is rectangular tubing?

Rectangular tubes are formed from coils and then ran through a series of dies. They are are welded from the inside to form their shape. Rectangular tubes are generally used for maintenance and structural purposes. Some examples of applications would be building construction, railings, and truck frames.

How MS pipes are made?

They are produced by two distinct methods which result in either a welded or seamless pipe. In both methods, raw steel is first cast into a more workable starting form. It is then made into a pipe by stretching the steel out into a seamless tube or forcing the edges together and sealing them with a weld.

What is the difference between MS and GI pipes?

GI Pipe is “Galvanized Iron” Pipe. Material ms is mild steel and gi is galvanized steel that has been hot dipped. Mild steel pipe refers to the content of less than 0.25% carbon steel because of its low strength, low hardness and soft

What is CR sheet?

CR sheets or cold rolled sheets are hot rolled products which provides a superior surface finish, with improved physical properties of the steel, such as high formability, high strength, excellent dent resistance, good magnetic properties, tensile strength, and workability and welding properties.

What is CR material?

CR Chemical name POLYCHLOROPRENE Trade names Neoprene polychlorprene. Physical properties. T his rubber has a generally good balance of mechanical properties and fatigue resistance second only to natural rubber, but with superior chemical, oil, and heat resistance. It is widely used in general engineering applications.

What is an MS plate?

The mild steel comes from the carbon steel which has a low carbon alloy. Mild steel has various characteristics like affordability, easy to weld, machinability, etc. The mild steel plates offer excellent corrosion resistance property in the server's environments.

is Mild steel a type of low carbon steel?

The carbon content varies depending on the requirements for the steel. Low carbon steels contain carbon in the range of 0.05 to 0.25 percent. There are different grades of mild steel. But they all have carbon content within the above-mentioned limits.

How do you calculate the thickness of a plate?

You can calculate the plate thickness as a ratio of the volume of the plate to its surface area. Measure or find out elsewhere the length and width of the plate. Multiply the length and width, if they are given in inches, by the factor 2.54 to convert the dimensions into centimeters.

What is MS steel pipes?

MS Pipe, MS Tube refers to Mild Steel Pipe or Mild Steel Tubes used for industrial and domestic use.

What is MS pipe specification?

As MS Pipes are made from mild steel they can easily be welded and formed in various shapes and sizes for pipelining and tubing purposes. These are generally used for drinking water supply i.e. Plumbing, Firefighting, HVAC but can also be used in various other Industrial and Engineering applications.

What is Colour coated sheet?

Colour coating is a term used to describe the application of a decorative and/or protective organic coating to steel substrate supplied in coil form. Colour coated steel is also called as pre-painted steel. In this process of application of colour coating, the substrate steel gets protective and decorative coating.

What is color roofing sheets?

Color Coated Roofing Sheets are highly durable roofing sheets which have high quality color coating throughout the roof or cladding. The thickness of coating depends on the weather conditions and its use. These roofing sheets come with lining enamel which is used as internal lining.

What is the most energy efficient roof color?

"Cool" roofs are lighter in color than traditional black asphalt or dark wood shingles and save energy by reflecting light and heat away rather than absorbing them. This is known as "the albedo effect," and many studies have documented significant energy savings from simply lightening the color of a roof
